Accessories, charging options for Rino 650
« on: October 28, 2013, 07:23:31 PM »
Anybody know of decent charging options for a Rino 650?  The lithium batteries, as far as I can tell, can only be charged when they're in the radio, and the alkaline battery pack doesn't let you transmit on full power (5W).

It'd be nice to be able to charge a battery in a craddle while the other is being used in the radio.

There are no cradle chargers for the pack.

Your best bet is to buy a couple spare packs and charge them in advance.

 :yeah:

I found in most cases I don't need the 5 watt. I could talk several miles with 1/2 watt.

You can get a ac charger and charge it in your car.

You can also save battery by turning off the gps when you don't need it. :twocents:

Mine lasts for near a week if I shut it off when not using it. I have an AC lighter plug in the Jeep or I charge in the camper when the gen is running.

I haven't seen a cradle charger for the 650 though, at least not on the Garmin site.  If you have, could you post a link?
