Duck hunting near Eatonville?
« on: November 04, 2013, 03:53:06 PM »
Hey everyone, I'm trying to get my 17 year old brother inlaw inti wing shooting. He lives in Eatonville and I know of no places out there to take him. He's a really good kid and wants to become a wildlife officer. Lol, so what I'm getting at is he's a good kid and we need to find a place near him. All my places are way to far for him to drive back and forth. Thanks for reading!

Thats up to him. I have an 18 foot G3 with a pump and a dog. l' almost done with the blind and could use an extra gun. There are really five lakes to hit:
Kapowsin...dangerously stumpy, really need a boat, and the boat launch has been known for vandalism. I never hunted it.
Alder...pretty much need a boat, and access is limited to water level. Hunted once on foot for geese and realized you pretty much need a boat.
Rapjohn... need a boat, and i think it's electric only, only two blinds that MUST be hunted from on a first come basis. Duck hunting is spotty, but quality birds. Geese are possible, but require scouting for pass shooting.
Silver...need a boat, and there is a launch fee. Lots of divers, geese are usually too high to bring down.
Harts...need a boat. No launch fee. Quality ducks and divers. Shooting spots are limited. Geese are possible with enough dekes.

Private land is out there, maybe Dean- Kreager by Silver. Used to ne able to hunt the dairy farm behind Harts....might be worth a shot to ask. I used to hunt it alot for geese in the fields but it was shut down.
