I'd buy a new gun (great excuse for your wife) and wait until Mayor McCheese has another gun buy back to get rid of it.

Here's an update. Remington contacted me Wednesday and their gunsmith said he was going to install a 700-series bolt and a new trigger. They should have it turned around in less than two weeks. No charge.

I bought the shells at Walmart and they had no information posted about a recall on a Remington Coke-lokt. Again, this was only soft tip 270 at 150 grain, and only certain lots. The clerk at the gun counter said he knew of the recall and that it was posted at their customer service counter. That was not the case. I advised Walmart's customer service that it would be smart to post recall information, especially when consumer safety is jeopardized. I emphasized the importance of posting the recall at the gun counter. Two weeks later nothing was posted.

I would say that is pretty good service from them, I would be pretty happy if I were you.  It also makes you realize how hard it really is to find 721/722 extractors if the parent company doesn't have any on hand, and are refitting a 700 bolt to the 721 action.  The only bummer is you are losing out on the 721 trigger (one of the best IMO).  You should have a 700 style safety though, so that is a bonus.  Thanks for the update.
