He was a beast. Pics really don't do him justice. Luckily I had my Nikon with me and he was able to pose for me for about 25 different shots. This guy wasn't too far away. He had a hot doe.

I'll be hitting it everyday now. This rain should really get them moving. My dad caught a real nice 4 pt I have pics if from last year. He has a droopy ear. Hopefully Ill get a chance to photograph him again. The buck in my avatar got killed last season so I won't see him again. He was a good buck too.

One word "swollen". I can't seam to locate any bucks in my spots. What altitude/and part of the state if you are ok sharing. I've killed animals in the early season most of the time and one in the late  in my spot but most years I don't see many animals just the one, then.... BANNG!

None of the big bucks I take and share pics of are up high. A lot of backyard bucks. Some show in hunt able areas some not. This buck (sorry cruddy pic) was on private land I could hunt. He was tempting to pursue, he lived in the area almost the entire early season. I'd much rather go freeze my tail off up north east in the winter and try to whack a good whitetail with my mathews. Although if that big heavy sucker in my first post was around when early archery was going on and was on land I could hunt I would have been all over it.

I've been looking for rutting bucks everyday for the last 7 or 8 days. Today was the most action. I saw probably 5 bucks today. Three rutting pretty good.

Saw this guy this morning. He wasn't acting real rutty. Not even real swollen yet.
