Could try cougar in heat if you have a e-caller.

Define "neighborhood" and "around!"

Is it residential? Rural residential? Rural farm? sighted by several, or just one person one time, etc?

Is it being sighted fairly regularly? If so, it may be a denning female. Every few weeks? likely just has established a routine.

Lots of factors, but calling with non-threatening communicative vocals is hard to beat (without dogs)! Distress works, but lots of times they stay hidden. Especially in a populated area where they're always on alert. Then again, young and dumb, or old and starving will make them easy marks.

Setting up immediately on a fresh kill, or within an hour or two of a sighting is 10,000% more effective than just going out tomorrow afternoon when you have a couple hours to kill. Haste makes success in those situations. Cold calling is TOUGH.

Good luck on it!
