Hope n' Prayers needed
« on: November 07, 2013, 07:57:39 PM »
My uncles plane went down on the way in to a remote wilderness hunt in Idaho yesterday morning. His good buddy also with him, and pilot. East of McCall. Heading in to the Frank Church River of No Return. Bad weather currently. Going in to the second night.

Original story
http://www.ktvb.com/news/Single-engine-plane-reported-missing-after-taking-off-from-McCall-230905941.html

Update
http://ktvb.mlnwap.com/article.html#!/9047/c05752e9c3d047ff8aa58393606e8c67

Really close with him. Learned a lot of hunting from him.

Bad deal.  But those 206's are tough planes.  Don't lose hope.  Prayers sent...

I just read they are getting a transponder signal and have limited the search to about a 2-mile radius. I hope that produces some good results really fast.

Yeah I saw that, thanks. The weather looks partly sunny there today and for the next few days. Hoping for the best today.

Thank you all.

I'll post updates as I can.

Sad to hear. You've got em!    That could easily be me, as I have that on the forefront to do this time of year, so I really do feel for him.

The problem is, those ELT signals bounce all over.  I've seen them indicate a downed plane miles from the actual plane.  Even sometimes in the opposite direction!  Still, I hope for a good outcome.
