I used to hunt that area. If you are going north on hwy 18 there is a road that goes to the right about 50 yards or so before you get to the I-90 on ramp. I would park there and walk in past the gate (You'll have to check if they still allow walk-ins). We didn't see a lot of deer but they are there (lots of sign) but tough to actually see something. Most of the stuff we saw was jumped up right at our feet in the middle of the clearcuts. I got a real nice 3X3 out of there and also a bobcat. Just a thought thou, when my kids got about old enough to hunt I headed east. We saw a lot more deer even if they weren't legal to shoot. It's good to get those girls involved to make sure there are some decent wifes out there for future generations.  :chuckle:

Hancock Timber now owns that land, you may need a permit, likely though you can still walk in. Be careful of going too far back in there, the watershed is off limits to hunting and is only 1 1/2 miles or so back there -I know a lot of poaching happens there. Also, the Tiger mountain side is a no firearms area, though I believe it is open to bow hunting. Watch out for idiots, I was bird hunting in there with my wife when walking on the main line back to the rig, this *censored* started target shooting right back at us with a large caliber handgun. He was also only 60 feet off Hwy 18 and could clearly see us coming...  >:( >:( >:(

It is a walk in only situation and there are some people who live back there now too. Just as an FYI.
