Set off someone elses Foxpro

A couple days ago i was out calling with my cousin. On our third stand we hiked in a little ways above a local lake. About 11 minutes into the stand i hit the mute button on my foxpro and about 200 yards to my right there is a loud howl. It sounded funny like a recording. I wait a couple minutes and hit the mute button again to turn the sound back on and again there is a howl to our right. I glass the hillside and in the brush 200 yards away is a guy all camo'd out in the sage brush. I don't know if we were there first or if he was? It really caught me off guard. We picked up and left. He never made a sound while we were there other than when i turned on his call. I have called a lot and have never ran into another predator hunter. has anyone else ever turned on someone elses call?

That's creepy ...So your saying all Fox pros are wired So they all work with each other  If So I really do not need one ....

I couldn't change his call sound just mute and unmute it

I am no expert but I bet they will work with each other. I don't think they are coded to the machine they are sold with.

Not a foxpro story but I had a radar detector in my old truck. I was sitting in it one day and was playing with my range finder I pointed it out the passage window and went to range and it set my radar detector off and it scared the crap out of me Don't know why but your story reminded me of it.

A while back, a friend and I were hunting coyotes, and we both had Foxpros.  Different models, but we were close enough together so that I began to notice that my caller was changing sounds "by itself".  The only thing I could think of was that his remote was affecting the base unit of mine.  There was also a billboard near where I parked that was full of LEDs, and when I parked near it, my remote wouldn't lock my truck doors.  I thought this was unusual until I saw someone else nearby having trouble with his remote, too.

Just change the channel/frequency setting on your remote and it should solve the problem. Most people run their remotes on the factory set channel/frequency and never change it. Therefore you have many units running on the same frequency. Change it up, pick a random channel and you should be good to go.

Didn't even know you could do this.  Don't know how.  Wouldn't even try.  You are supposed to be able to take the micro-chip out of the unit to load more sounds on it.  I can't figure out how to get the chip out without breaking it, so the unit stays "as shipped". You must remember that a good many of us old guys are afraid of the new technology.  A 9 year old could probably do it--I can't.

Twenty or thirty minutes later I heard what sounded like a fawn bleat back toward the hillside. I waited a bit, then called back toward it. It responded. I called twice. It called twice. I called three times, it called three times.

I promptly pulled the orange out of my pack and put it in. Didn't year another call all night.

Its a pretty strong argument for hunting private land thats for sure. Speaking of thread-jacking, my original comment is out of context...never used a fox pro and it took a while to realize y'all were talking about setting off with remotes.
