I missed a buck yesterday on my special permit hunt. I'm more than willing to submit myself to some ridicule so as to prevent some other poor sap from making the same mistake I did. Basically once your gun is set up, don't mess with it. I decided to put Butler Creek scope covers on in case of bad weather. The objective lens cover went on hard but never did I think it would actually move the scope. It acted sort of as a wedge and lifted the front end of the scope up. What a dummy move I made. It cost me a nice buck and a coyote(sorry Team Admin). Anyway. Flame away. I've spent the entire day sulking around the house sick to my stomach.
This is what I finally figured out the problem to be.

This is what it's supposed to look like.

I took the scope cover off and it went right back to shooting the way it was supposed to.
Take it easy on me. This is a stupid mistake but maybe it will prevent someone else from making the same error.
Time for some Leupold Lumina covers I guess.
