So here we go again for another day of honoring our Veterans with a day of fun, friends and fishing! This September 13th, our goal is to have 100 boats out on the water for silver salmon mayhem! To register your boat, please contact Dave Davenport at 425.870.8478 or by email at DaveyD6998275@yahoo.com. Also, if you know of a veteran who would like to attend, please contact Jonathan Wicks at 253.838.3090 x 3978 to get them signed up. Check out our Salmon for Soldiers Facebook page and stay tuned for the website launch of SalmonforSoldiers.com!

For all of you who joined us last year, thank you again so much for your dedication, enormous contributions and patriotism! For those that did not get a chance to be there last year, now is the time to get in on the action! This event is expected to fill up fast and space is limited....

Hope to see you all out on the water!

Thanks  jackelope, for pinning this to the top for us. The event is picking up speed, things are happening at a rapid pace for the September 13th event. I know we had several boats from this forum last August that participated, hoping to see you guys again this year for a bigger and better event.

If anyone has questions feel free to shoot me a message and I will either help you out or get you in touch with the right person.

Count me in again, it was great fun last year. Both of the soldiers I fished with last year are now friends of mine. Let me know if I can do anything to help out.

Hey Ripper
Can't thank you enough for the outstanding commitment you made last year. Looking forward to having you back again. I have had a few calls from veterans wishing to be back with the same boat and crew. You may want to contact Joshua and Carlos to get them signed up again. You can coordinate with Dave Davenport and Brandon Jones to make that happen. You can find their information on the website at www.salmonforsoldiers.com. There is also a link to our facebook page on the website.
If you have any input or ideas you would like to see for the event this September 13th, give a shout and we can put it on our planning meeting agenda. The planning teams will be meeting at Harbor Marine at 1000 on March 15th.....
We are proud to have great folks like you with us in honoring our veterans! Take good care and see you soon!

Hey there Randy, Can't hardly wait till this years event, hopefully with being a few weeks later this year there will be more salmon showing up !!

Was also wondering about this years paperwork for the non-profit donations etc… and if you were able to get your own 501c3 tax exempt number to put on the paperwork like last year, I'm thinkin about getting that ball rolling again so I want to be sure to use the right numbers and addresses so could you post it up in here or PM that information to me so I can get started, I know its early but just want to be sure everything is done ahead of time !!

Thanks again for what your doing, It truly is a pleasure to be involved in this with you guys !!!

Hey Guys,
Here soon we will have a link established for those wanting to donate small amounts $20, $30, $40 and $50 or more to this great organization- Salmon for Soldiers.  We just finished our meeting today and will be having more information for corporate sponsorship available soon.  Working out an issue right – for some awesome T-shirts – be in the ball park of $20 each, half going to the event and other half paying for the shirts.  How many would be interested in shirts?  Like to get an ideal just from a random scanning….  Any business owners interested in sponsoring a portion of the event – if so PM me for contact…
Last year HuntWa was extremely well represented at the events in regards to boats owners and volunteers- lets' do it again!!!!  I know last year I got a lot of PM's from folks asking “how a guy without a boat can help out?”   Well - We will be fund raising hard core here soon, across many platforms of social media and web sites; as feeding 500 participants, paying for Moorage, transporting Soldiers to the location, some billeting for them,  providing lunches, advertising and of course prizes for this event is not cheap.  Ultimate goal is 30-40k and it is 100% to the event, not a single overhead expense or person receiving payment - all volunteer staff!!!  So I want to open it up on this site first, as no matter what sites I purse, I always come to this site the most.  As it is the best group of folks on any outdoor website.  Remember this is for those that have injuries that may never heal.  If we can take their minds off of the rigors of that and offer them an opportunity to have a great time stress free day – I say,  that is what it is all about!!!  “Fishing is the Mission!”
Soon will have a link posted  on HuntWa - where folks can donate whatever funds they might be able to contribute.   I figured let’s show HuntWa pride by being able to give back to those that do not  have the opportunity we all live - day to day.  Let’s show the other outdoor sites, especially fishing sites where the hearts are at!!!  And of course a big thank you in advance to all those that can contribute, whether that is with funds,  bringing your boat or helping out elsewhere-  Salute to you all!!  I will post T-Shirt pictures, once designed, but it will have Salmon for Soldiers logo on front and a cool design on back of - War Fighters in a boat taking on the beasts of the Sound with a fishing rod!

As of yesterday, 03/18/2014 Salmon For Soldiers is a 100% 501 C3 non-profit organization. Once we get the Pay-Pal link set-up on the web site all donations will be tax deductible. As noted by Cohoho, not one penny of the money raised will go to pay an officer. The money is intended to support the events, and get our Wounded Vet's to events to fish. Remember

Some incredible news that Silver Horde Tackle will be producing a limited number of Salmon for Soldiers spoons for the 2014 fishing event in September. Silver Horde has committed to producing a special limited edition lure for Salmon for Soldiers every year for the next decade. These spoons will be available for boat captains who volunteer their boats and expertise every year to take our veterans fishing and a very limited number will be for sale to the general public. We'll have more news on how to purchase the Salmon for Soldiers limited edition spoons later, but for now we would just like to give a huge THANK YOU to Silver Horde for supporting Salmon for Soldiers and our veterans!!!!!!!
