2013 Silverado 2500 HD winch mount pictures
« on: November 22, 2013, 07:29:53 PM »
Any of my friends on here have a winch mount setup on their newer 2500 HD Silverado ? I don't want one of those big, ugly bumpers. NO Fords or Dodge pictures please.

I want a nice clean setup for a 12000lb winch.

Thanks friends......... :chuckle:

Left the half ton in the dust?? Good choice in a new truck and winch.

Indeed. I've never owned a diesel and wish I would of done it earlier. Have any ideas for cheap upgrades for torque then horsepower ? I don't like 4 inch exhaust. I'll be hauling a 3800 lb camper and a 4500lb ATV trailer and the truck weighs 7750lbs. Total weight around 16000lbs.

Intake and exhaust. You can do it without getting loud.

Everybody over here has those obnoxious, loud cummins with the 4 inch exhaust.

I was thinking Banks to start with. Would that help much without the exhaust ? I want more torque for pulling.

And you think you need more power?

My '11 Dmax runs about 21k combined while towing my fifth wheel and about 20k combined while towing my boat. I haven't encountered a situation yet that made me wish for more power.

I've never owned a diesel before. So I guess I might be over thinking it because of my gas pot trucks.

Muffler delete  :dunno: Maybe if you do a air intake and a programmer but one thing to remember is that a programmer will void your powertrain warranty if it is still in factory warranty and yes they will know if you take it out before you go to the dealer because it has a counter inside and a history on the PCM.

I am still waiting on the pics for you Camp but have not got them yet.

Yea,you're overthinking it. There isn't a pass is Washington state that I can't pull at or above the speed limit. Road conditions (curves) are generally the only thing that keep the speed down.

As far as intake and exhaust, you already have a 4" exhaust stock. The factory intake flows more than the engine can use.

I did put a Banks DPF-back exhaust on my truck. The only reason was to get rid of the ugly factory exhaust tip on the Dmax. The Banks provides zero additional power and zero additional noise.

What Rick said about your intake and exhaust flows.  They can flow a considerable amount more CFM's then you could ever realize or really utilize vs the cost to modify your intake and exhaust.  The typical rule of thumb on intake and exhaust is you get over 700hp and you need to look at it making it breathe better.
This is really all you need:

No idea.....since I am Dodge guy......do the 2013 Maxipads come from the factory with an exhaust brake now?  If not, this is the #1 best thing I did for mine.  You will pay for this in the long haul if you use the brake as much as I do, even empty, in brake jobs on the truck.

The LML ('11-current) Dmaxs all have a factory exhaust brake.

After talking to a few chums I know that have Duramax's, I think it's a waste of money. I'd rather get some LED lights for the grille guard when I get one.

Thanks for the input fellas, 'ppreciate it.

Thanks young man. I only bought this because I like being away from crowds and don't like campgrounds. We're all setup to boondock in the woods now.

That's why I went with the front receiver and 12000 warn in the cradle to move front to rear. Less monies and supper universal. Even whinch stuff onto the flatbed with it from time to time.

:) How are you feeling about battery life? How long will it pull with no motor/charge source running? My old 1974 Bronco with Warn 8000 would only pull is self about 10 feet with the motor off. I am wondering if they are better now??
nice looking rig.
