« on: November 25, 2013, 06:45:40 PM »
Im going to be doing late archery. This will be my first time to hunt in this state. I set up in capital forest im not real confedent in my spot. I have not kicked up any deer while scouting but i have seen tracks trails and rubs. But i was just wondering if any one new where more public land is close to lacey out by yelm that i couod scout and have a good chance at a deer?

Head out to Oakville. Take a left at the post office and go toward Brooklyn. turn left on the 512 rd I believe.. if you hit the tavern youv gone too far. Lots of good land over there.

wdfw has online tools and maps to help find open lands to hunt. Also the huntinggpsmaps chips work well to help find private vs public land options.
The area mentioned previously has many new gates up so be prepared to do some hiking or biking.

Need to be careful where you hunt. GMU 501 Lincoln Crk is closed to late Archery.
Hunting is not a passion; Its an obsession!
