Just got back from there and yes the hunter numbers is definitly up. we could not get any of our usual camp spots. We got a few shots but nothing big and no blood. On a side note someone poached a 2x2 and left it. ALIVE!!!!!!. so i guess the warden was called. Hopefully not someone on this forum.............

I don't think the deer numbers were down this year. I think the weather was about the same as it was last year and 2008. Lots of bucks hit the dirt in 08 and I saw plenty that were taken the first couple of days of this year. I must of seen close to 100 deer on the opener. About 15 were bucks and more than half those were legal. There were ALOT of hunters this year though. As the season went on I saw less and less deer but that's to be expected because of pressure. I tagged out on the 25th and my brother tagged out on Thanksgiving. One thing I am wondering about is the UTV,s and quads on the dirt roads and riding around off road.

There are some designated roads in that area that allow ATV/UTV use.  I don't know which ones, but, there are maps available from what I have read.  I think Conconnully's website had something on it.     :dunno:

No Bark I think I met you up there a few years ago. Your son had just tagged out on a nice heavy deer off one of the skid roads off Chopaka grade. How did you do this year?
