*<Zebralight Special>*
« on: November 30, 2013, 11:46:39 AM »
I tested out the Zebralight this year.  I was so impressed I decided to become a dealer.  These headlamps blew my petzyl out of the water using only one AA battery.  These lights are bright and the most efficient L.E.D. circuits out there.  They have just released the new H52/H52F which once again are class leading in brightness, efficiency and heat dissipation.  One model is a spotlight and the other is a flood lamp with an intensified hotspot.

I will be offering a hunting-washington.com group buy on Cyber Monday.  I will offer 10% off the retail price (the only way these can be discounted).  Use checkout code "ZL10".

I was wondering how these compare in lums? I really don't know what lum's mean but, it just gives me something to compare to. And in your opinion which of these two are the best?  Also, one problem I've always had with certain lights is them turning on while in my pack. Are these built to not turn on accidently in your pack? Thanks
“In common with”..... not so much!!

I have the (3) "AAA" battery petzyl and I would say these are two to three times brighter and I was running the 502W (which has already been discontinued) and these are supposed to be 140% brighter.  I can't imagine.

My 502W was a pure flood light.  It gave me about a 150* beam spread and I could see out to 30 yards every direction.  I think the floody is going to be better for a "headlamp" as it gives you a wider angle but still allows a hotspot to reach out (I'm assuming 50 yards).  The other reason I like the floody for a headlamp is that I will carry a zebralight flashlight for a spotlight.

The other plus over my Petzyl is the "color" of the light.  The neutral white is a 4400K light where the petzyl puts out a 6300k (appearing blue).  It is alot easier to pick up detail as you are walking with the neutral white.

It is hard to believe they already discontinued the 502W and have moved onto a much brighter light already.

I've been wanting one of these for a while now. I'm in in the group buy as long as I don't forget. Somebody remind me.

How'd you feel about battery life? Very bright but only for .9 hour?

I run mine on medium and a single battery lasted me two hour hike in the dark and then various early morning, late at night needs for a week.

You don't need the high function very much...

Read the directions though as the cycling between levels isn't intuitive...but you get used to it.

That is on super bright. I would say you would most likely hike around on medium so you would get at least 7.5hrs.

They highly recommend lithium batteries and I feel that with the energizer lithium max I may have got even better battery life.
