The 2013's are having rebates on them. I paid $8900 for it. This one is a 500XT and it rides a whole lot better than my '08 650XT. They changed the frames in 2012 and are called g2's.

I miss my Yamaha Grizzly 660.  Looking at yours makes me want one again.  I really hope our states allows atv's on all forest service roads again.  I sold mine after a game warden stopped me (in my truck) and said if he sees my quad leave the bed of my truck, he would ticket me.   :bash: :bash:

Nice ride.

It's 100% legal to ride where allowed on any road in Washington.

I had a Grizzly 660 and this puts it to shame. It's got 45 hp and power steering.

You can ride ORV's on forest circus roads in a lot of different national forests in Washington.

And yes Frank, I am a good boy.............

Very nice...

I have a dual sport to ride behind locked gates too.  Don't you love the looks of hunters when you drive by them 10 miles in from the gate?  I think my motorcycle tears up the ground better then your quad.   :chuckle: :chuckle:

Its does for sure. I've seen the damage motorcycles have done in the Wenatchee N.F. I can't believe an ATV is illegal to ride there.

Totally agree.  Why wouldn't the NF or the State allow them on the roads?

I think it's because they know if there are ATVs running around on the roads, most will not stay on the roads. It's easier for them to just say no ATVs allowed anywhere in this National Forest.

Mainly because the Forest Circus Ranger that runs a particular N.F. will or won't let you ride on OUR lands. Which is total crap........

As for the state, you can ride them now, after you get them inspected from a dealer, get the receipt and paper work and take it to the DOL and get temp plates until the metal ones come out. You can only ride them on certain roads in Washington legally, after you get your plate. You'll have to find out which ones are legal.

Even though I'm a Backcountry Hunter supporter, and therefore an anti-hunter, I completely agree that ORVs should be legal on all Forest Service roads. :)

45hp is pretty strong really!  Heck thats just as much as a new Grizzly 700.  I bet the old 660 was pushing 36hp.  My old Vinson 500 would spank 660 grizzlies and it was only 35+hp.  These new machines with 70-90hp are just more than you need.  If you have done 80mph on these machines you would know its too darn fast!  Spooky. Leave the speed to the sport quads.

I think the Can am 1000 has 81 hp and the 800 has 74 hp if I remember right. My 800 SxS had 74 and it was way more than a normal guy would need.
My 660 had 40 hp that was a total slug.

Not from my experience,  can't recall really ever seeing them off a pre-existing road of some sort. It's just too brushy or rough with downfall trees.

I'll agree they are constantly on closed/gated off roads, pretty much every gate I see has an ATV trail around it but even then I don't see an environmental concern as the roadbed is still there.

The brush will eventually close off even these roads in a matter of a few years.

Yes, got rid of it.

I didn't really trust the thing. You couldn't poke along because it clunked. In the summer it was way too hot to drive. I even put GT Sound mat/heat mat on the console and that helped some.

I like the ATV better for trail riding, because the trails are only made for 50 inches wide ATV's as you know.

I never did and ended up selling my Grizzly 700.  There is just no place to ride here.  I'll buy another one when I move back out west.  I have talked to several lion hunters over in Idaho and MT that love their tracks!

Camp meat if you get tracks make sure to check out the place on northwest blvd where it turns into Indiana in spokane. They are one of the top dealers in the Country if I'm not mistaken, my dad has done endless research on the kits, and there's are awesome.

I think those guys are ATVTACKS. net or something like that. Depending on where you get them, they're about $4-5000. Kind of not on my list right now since I'm leaning toward warm and sunny retirement areas, like Arizona, Arizona strip/Utah/Nevada. Someplace where I can enjoy no snow at the house and no rain hardly. 60-70 degrees in the winter.....................

I just came over Boulder Pass coming back from Colville and a guy had just unloaded his quad with tracks. I wanted to stop and BS with him, but I have 2 in command with me...........

Boo for warm weather haha. Yea they are awesome, watching the video, the old man works with a kid that has a set on his quad and he loves em.  They cut your top speed by like 60% or so, but when you're in the snow that's pretty dang good still. The pitch of the front of the track makes them so great.   If I ever have the disposable income to get some, I will for sure get a set of those.  Someday  8)

I love that idea of sunny retirement.

Me too.............

I don't know Dale. All I know is I never see Honda's in any of the 3 ATV clubs I belong too. The Can am is pretty much considered the caddy of the ATVs. Mine came with a 2 year warranty with a $50 deductible each time after the standard warranty runs out in 6 months.

I know one guy over here that has a Honda and loves it. I think most people don't consider them " sporty " for being offroad rides. . Honda's are like the workhorse/farm machine.

Most of the ATV's I see are Polaris, Yamaha then Can am in that order.

If you are considering tracks for your motorcycle or ATV.  Go see these guys in Spokane.  They know their stuff and have been doing this for years.  I have attached a few of their videos.  Please go to their web site for many years of their videos.

If you want tracks the Yamaha is the way to go,  they are the lightest weight of all the bigger atv's (by quite a bit) and pack a lot of torque with that big single cylinder.

They also have the best 4x4 system with a true full lock up on the front.

Nice rig, Camp!  But you better put a windshield on it, or you'll freeze your butt off!   :chuckle:  :chuckle:
If it was easy, everybody would be doing it.

When Bernie Madoff did it, it's called a "Ponzi Scheme"
When Government does it, it's called "Social Security"
