Google diseases raccoons can transmit to humans and see what you find.
You can get sick and die from the milk in your fridge too, what's the point? Just cook it completely. If you don't want to eat it, then don't.

I'm guessing noone on here that has eaten it has caught anything from it.
To the OP, like most things, some people seem to like it, some don't, just like many foods. You will not know until you try it. I would suggest trying a younger one for yourself. If you like it, keep eating, if not, don't. It would be a shame to throw out many pounds of meat in a year if it turns out you like it.
