 so does this mean the dry spell is over?
Yes it is. Not my kill, but better. haha

Very nice. Any details on the call you use, ammo and choke? Love to get after those things up in king county.

I like the primos open reed calls for howls and such and they work well for distress calls too ones like the Hot Dog and Lil Dog. Really for distress calls I switch it up a lot just so they dont hear the same pitch and everything every time. I have a generic primos distress call that I used on this yote combined with a couple howls from the Hot Dog. I use a montana brand decoy, the one that looks like a coyote, I put it up kind of in the background upwind if possible. I also have a small motion decoy with rabbit fur on it to keep their eyes on that moving and off of me. That one I will put 20 yard or so upwind or cross wind from me next to a remote caller, one of the small ones that dont get too loud and only have like 5 different sounds (dont have the money for a FoxPro haha) I picked up all my stuff in my teenage years from working summers on the farm. If in close quarters I will start with the remote caller, if out in the open I go straight to the mouth calls. I have no real routine besides that, my routine is be sponanious, that way it is harder for them to get used to one specific thing or the other and helps slow the educating of the coyote. I have a 223 bolt action for open areas outside firearm restriction. For closer in I run 12 gauge with modified choke generally and I really like #4 buck but end up using 00 buck a lot because its easier to come by. If I am in firearm restriction areas then I will keep a slug in the mag so all I have to do is cylce one round in case one hangs up too far out for buckshot. If I dont have slugs then I will put a full or extra full choke with the #4 buck. I have dropped a few of them with an extra full and #4 buck out to 70 yards give or take. Overall though most my shots end up being 10-30 yards. Only twice have I had one in sight that wouldnt come any closer.
