I like it!  Especially that it has a nice gas block, and not that high A2 type front sight.  For the money, I don't think you can go wrong--everything is there, and just the Bolt Carrier Group will cost half of that.  Being a modular gun, you can change things later that you want, but this will get you shooting!

PS: Summer is coming, so there's probably no rush, but the first thing I would change is a Winter Trigger Guard, for the days when you wear gloves. (About a $15.00 accessory).  Down the road you might want a better trigger, but that one will get you going!

It depends what type of bullets you want to run. Most of the time people buy the 1:9 to get a wider range of bullet choices.

What type of bullets would be used for each rate of twist?

The 1:9 will most likely do best with 45-55 grain bullets. Some guns will shoot the heavy bullets better even with a 1:9. Not many in my experience. The 1:7 will do really well with the heavy bullets like 69 and up. Why they can run the mid range bullets. I have not had much luck with them doing so very accurately. I have 1:9 1:8 and 1:7. Hands down I like the 1:8 for most of my builds.

If your looking for a quality upper at a good value check out palmetto state armory.com
They are always running deals on ar15 parts. Only gripe is slow shipping, but I can live with that. And I agree with carp, 1:8 gives you a wide variety of bullet weights. But my 1:7 twist bcm upper shoots very well with 55 grain pills on up to 77 smk bullets.

Thanks for the info guy's. I will keep my eyes out for a 1in8 if i don't just buy the 1in7 it seems like the majority of bullets in factory ammo are the lighter bullets.
