« on: January 02, 2014, 02:52:57 PM »
I picked up this gun along with a 300 win mag, as a package deal, does anyone know what a fair offer on it would be, its in excellent condition, it from 1986.

They didn't build CDL's in 1986 as far as I know.

I'm thinking the CDL's were introduced in the 2000's, but I might be wrong.  Anyhow, nice smallies.

I am not sure when they started producing the CDL for sure.  I believe that if your rifle has a raised comb on the butt stock it is a BDL, the CDL has the straight stock.  They also don't come with iron sights as the BDL does. New on Gunbroker you can get a CDL for 825.00 in blued and 879.00 in stainless.  That should give you an idea.

Thanks MtnMuley, I really just wanted the 300 win mag that came with the 338, after shooting it (300wm) this past elk season, I have no need for the 338. I bass fish more than anything, I hunt  deer and elk and that's only 3 weeks out of the year for me. Looking at getting some new rods and reels and Im sure someone will put this beast into action. Thanks for the reply though, much appreciated.
