Shout out to browning trail cams

I am a want my cake and eat it too kinda guy.
I always buy budget items, with the understanding they may not be all i'd hoped.

The browning trail cam are awesome.

I bought two, and ran them side by side with 6 higher end moultrees, and 2 primos (garbage).
Other than price, and the crazy batt life on browning, there was little to no difference what so ever. Comparable trigger, shutter, and sensitivity. Great pic quality day/night. Great range. I ran both cams for 5.5 months this year without ever changing the batts, or leaving the field. Both cams logged 1000+ pics in 10-75 degree weather, through snow and ice.

I will also say, I noticed 90% of the pics were triggered by animals. Not grass, twigs, sunrises or sunsets.

For $115-$130 I dont think you can come close.

Nighttime pic. About 10 feet from cam.

Early am pic. Again 7-10 feet out.
Looks a bit blurry, but this buck was hauling through the screen after a doe. With a 3 sec delay, he was only caught on this pic, and the second one was about 30 feet out, the third he was in the brush (for what its worth).

This is a midday shot. Notice the sun. My primos would have maxed out the sim card picking up the thermals and shadows. The cam was oriented due east, so it got a daily face full of sun, and never took a pic of it. Pretty impressed.

Another early am. Prior to being able to see more than 40 yards with the naked eye. (notice the date).
Also notice his left eye.... I'd like to find the buck that dealt that whoopin!


I have no stake in Browning. Just overly impressed with these cameras for the price, and know a budget hunter like myself will not be disappointed.

Additionally, something to note. These cams had zero issues keeping true date/time.... Unlike my primos.

Sportsmans.
However, I have seen them (currently) listed at bowviper.com for $88, and on e-bay for $72.
Primos is priced around that range, but will not compare in quality/longevity.

i would like to know where your cams are set up, that way i can go and judge lighting conditions for your cams and such, i promise i wont be interested in the blacktail bucks at all

The cons with the Browning Special Ops is the high daytime battery consumption with lithiums lasting 4-6 months and rechargables lasting 2 months.
