Made it out hunting today
« on: January 14, 2014, 07:46:05 PM »
Hi guys,

Nothing exciting to report, although I do believe I may have found some sign of yotes in the area? I'll let you decide:

Thankfully there was still snow on the ground! I was thinking maybe that someone had been out walking their dogs, but then I realized the only human tracks out there were my own.....sooo? Still never seen coyotes here in the westside hunting areas, but this is the closest I have come I think. The scat I found a few hundred yards further down the trail.

All in all a good day to get out, I did however take back the primos turbo dogg I purchased before Christmas. Really scratchy sound compared to the old one I had, felt like it was not worth the cost to keep going out with. I'll stick to hand calls from now on  :)

Hey Stinkyrat, too bad no luck this morning, I think I talked to you at the gate this morning, if so  :hello:. We have seen, heard of sightings and found kills from cougars down the 59 road a ways from the intersection where the picnic bench is. Disregard this if I'm talking to the wrong person, lol. I have a few other good coyote spots I can tell you about as well.
Old hunters never die, they just stay loaded.

I'm not too good at tracks, but I'm fairly sure that's coyote scat!

Sure look like coyote tracks to me.  They're everywhere now.  Read about one guy that was sitting in a Starbucks in downtown Seattle and saw a coyote rummaging through a dumpster across the street....  :chuckle:
If it was easy, everybody would be doing it.

When Bernie Madoff did it, it's called a "Ponzi Scheme"
When Government does it, it's called "Social Security"

I hear that! I was driving down the road coming back from lunch at my plant and look over to see this coyote causally walking across the 4 lane road in broad daylight... had something white and black in its mouth, probably a cat or rabbit. If only it wasn't in the city...  ;)

Cougkilr, That was me! I shot you a PM  :hello:

YoungBuck, this was in the 654 area, its the closest state land I know to go hunting around. Pretty new to the south sound so its taking some getting used to! Trees weren't quite so packed in together compared to over in Ellensburg!
