Are you looking for a new complete system? Or upgrading some pieces? If budget is not important than I think hands down sitka is better. But its pricey and depending on the type of hunting your doing it may not be worth it to drop the coin if you wont reap the benefits.  What season? Type of terrain? Miles covered play a role? IMO sitka merino is rip off. Absolute junk compared to other brands that cost half as much. Other than that I have been satisfied to very pleased with all their stuff I have owned.

IMO all merino is a ripoff.  Never had a piece that would last long enough to support the price you pay.

Looking for a new complete system. Ill be using during early archery/deer and maybe late deer as well.
Terrian varies to rocky to brushy and steap. And usually  hike 5-12miles a day on estimate

Customer service/warranty is something to think about, with the prices that are paid for these garments. I have no experience with UA, but have had some with Sitka. Their customer service is some of the best that I have experienced

There is not even a comparison in my eyes for hunting gear. Sitka is so far and above anything ua has. I am starting to agree with the couple posts about merino wool... its very expensive and not super durable but it is very nice when wearing...

I have been blowing $ on UA stuff for years & have a lot of it. I think I'm ready to switch to another type this season if I can sneak it by the boss.

I have some merino from Minus 33 that I wear for work every day from October through March.  It's going on two years old now and is still going strong.

I suppose if you are wearing it as outerwear it might not last, but as a base I think it lasts just fine.

That's about 1.5 years longer than I have ever gotten out of merino.  Must be some good stuff or not 100% merino :dunno:

I had some Red Hot Chilly stuff years ago they said had merino.  It lasted a long time.  Itched to beat heck so I'm not sure how much merino there was.  Stuff was sure warm and resisted stink.

I know some that wear it as an outer.  I've always worn it as a base layer.  Elbows, knees and collar are where I had problems.  Moths got to one shirt.  It must have been tasty stuff cuss they demolished it quick  >:(

It's 100% Merino.  I can wear it for a week with no odor, and that's saying something.  Very soft and very comfortable.
