Charlie Hampton Memorial Shoot 3D Silver Arrow Bowmen
« on: January 16, 2014, 05:10:17 PM »
This shoot is a tribute to a dedicated Club Member and Friend of mine. Charlie Was a great guy who was ALWAYS working at the Club. His girls grew up shooting at the club, and we still consider them family even now that they are grown up and have moved away.  He ran the 4H program at our club teaching youngsters how to shoot after his girls had grown up. The 4 H program is Growing and strong thanks to his great start. Our club hosts 60+ youngster on Tuesdays nights at 6:30  and we will be adding another session on Thursday evenings soon.
Charlie was a well known prankster, and made it his mission to make people laugh when things got too serious. The other thing Charlie was well known for was his inability to keep anything with 4 wheels on the ground. In His early days he was a Motor bike trials rider. (Riding Obstacle Courses) His idea of a good time was an ATV or Tractor on 2 or less wheels! One of my favorite memories of him was when we were working on the course and he was driving another members tractor. I was hanging off the side of the tractor as ballast and he had 3 tires in the air. I Told him don't worry i'll get a strap from my truck  so we can pull you out. His response was NOT A CHANCE! He worked the throttle and split rear brakes like a champ and climbed out of the off camber hole he was in.
Come join us for 40 targets on Saturday, and 30 on Sunday. It will be a great shoot, and Charlie would like nothing better than to be remembered having a good time.

I'm gona be helping with the setup on this shoot. I walked part of the course with my brother thinking about how to set it up. We put on a great shoot, and if you show up on saturday you get and extra 10 targets.
