I love my XD.45 4" for home protection, but I carry a smaller Ruger on me. I've had only one jam and that was only after having shot about 50-100 cartridges through it. I love the double stack because it makes it an assault handgun!  :chuckle: It shoots very tight groups. I've been thinking about getting a laser sight for it, too. I love the laser on the LC9 (although it's needing new batteries right now).

Heard a lot of good things about them  and have several friends that own them. I personally don't like the standard XD but I really like the XDM.

He's asking about the XDS, not the XD. I have an 45 XDS and it's been at Springfield since October for a recall. I liked it when I had it for a week before it went back. If you get one, make sure it's been fixed. I guess someone had an accidental discharge.

I was told Springfield fixed 4 -5 things on the pistol. You can one way if it's been back by a NEW 3rd roll pin installed on the safety grip. Or call them with the serial number and ask.
I couldn't care less about what anybody says..............

I guess I was confused that he wrote XDs (like the plural of XD), instead of XD-S (the actual model designation). Please continue. I still like it.

I noticed they are offering a 4 inch barrel xds now too. I would look at that one. I looked at them but I opted for my kimber ultra carry instead. They seem like great guns.

Love my .45 5" tactical. A bit heavy all loaded up (13 rds) but it shoot great groups. The only issue feeding was on my first attept at reloads and I expanded a bit deep. Minor adjustment :chuckle:

I always figured the only reason to get an XD was for the Hi-Cap magazine.  Had an XD-45 and an XD-40.  When I got an FNX-9, I was so impressed, I sold my XD's and got an FNP-40 and an FNX-45.  I like a hammer on my pistols.  And I like the decocker feature.  Just can't get excited about striker-fired guns.  And, the FNH's are made in the USA!

Maybe I'm confused.......let's see if it gets corrected as to his question.

I also had a full size 45 XD and got rid of it. It was like an anchor on my side. Too big and heavy for everyday carry.

I got news for you, Camp-the FNX-45 is as heavy as the XD-45!  But it's got a hammer!  :chuckle:

I'm a big stud with big paws myself. The gun feels good to shoot, even in my paws........7x4 inches. Same as you.
