How to ignore boards
« on: January 03, 2014, 08:58:19 PM »
We were talking behind the scenes and decided that some of you may not be familiar with all the options you have to customize your profiles. One of the features I think most might appreciate the most is your ability to "ignore" boards. If you don't like all the Classifieds ads, you can set yourself to ignore the Classifieds forum. This way, the only way you'll see any Classifieds ads is if you actually click on that forum board and look specifically at the threads in there.
There's 2 ways to do this. First is from the "Profile" tab along the top bar:

Click that, then look on the left side of your screen. Click on "Ignore Board Options"

Then you'll get this screen. Click on whichever boards you want to ignore. I choose to ignore Politics and Off Topics.

Then go to the bottom right corner of the screen and click on "Change Profile"

There's an easier way to get to the "Ignore Board Options" screen by clicking that tab on the right hand side of your screen if you have your screen set up that way with the newest posts set to show on the right side bar.

Hope that helps some of you enjoy the site more if there's some forum boards you're not interested in.

Thanks jackelope for a great explanation on how everyone can adjust the forum to be exactly how they want it.

thanks.  (That's a cool option)

I thought this thread was going to be a joke based on some of the threads that are out there right now.    :chuckle:

Well...in a roundabout sort of way it is.

These options have been available on this forum for a long time, it's just a matter of making a few clicks to suit yourself.  :twocents:
