Hope this info helps. In addition to hunting blacktails, I grow pumpkins to sell each year for our small farm along with hay, corn and apples from our orchard. During September, it drives me crazy trying to keep those darned blacktails out of the pumpkins! They destroy them just as they're starting to turn orange

. After Halloween, when the pumpkins have all been sold, I take the leftovers into the woods to use for my trail camera. Guess what.... then, the deer won't go near the pumpkins!

Pretty danged funny if you ask me. Also, we have neighbors who have no trouble at all with deer in their pumpkins.
