If you have someone else install a Flowmaster or Magnaflow, make sure you are not getting an aftermarket knockoff!
I had a Magnaflow on my 02 Ram that made it sound great. A buddy liked it and went to a local "Exhaust shop" to have one installed. It sounded fine. Three years later his was already rotted through. Mine was still going fine after six years.

I got dual 40's on my 2004 8.1 big block and i cant stand them.  They sound good but way to loud for normal driving.  Can't wait for them to wear out so I can get some 50's

You didn't exactly say it but if you are suggesting a kitty disappearance, that's not such a good idea since it appears the OP lives in the emission test zone.
