NY may get it yet. There are many, especially upstaters, who are really upset with the new law. I wouldn't be too surprised to see some recall elections happening there very soon.
The pattern in all states is the same: populated cities drive the state's politics, and they are liberal voters. NY in NY, Seattle in WA, Portland in OR, San Fran in CA, Missoula in MT, Denver in CO, and so forth. It has been said that the only voters that matter in Washington can all be seen from the top of the Space Needle.

Universities are in the urban centers, and that it part of it. Most governmental jobs are in urban centers. Mostly I think that somehow people lose a sense of personal responsibility: police will protect me, there are food banks and shelters if I need help, etc. Who needs guns or hunting?
Nature. It's cheaper than therapy.

CO has a liberal voting base because of Denver, as opposed to all of its surrounding neighbors. Yet they've recalled and removed two state senators and another is on the way. Legal gun ownership is much higher than Bloomberg is leading everyone to believe and because of the heavy-handed federal gov't we have, many people who were formerly on the sidelines are taking notice and action. OR has introduced laws in the legislature for mandatory background checks on all gun sales and the legislation is in trouble now on the floor. It's not expected to make it to a vote and if it does, will likely lose big.

On CA, . . . .

Occidental Petroleum Tells California "GTT"

http://ace.mu.nu/archives/347187.php

Quote
OXY is moving their HQ to Houston Texas from Los Angeles after a century in California. They announced their intention to spin off California operations and focus on their highly productive west Texas Permian Basin holdings in a state that welcomes shale production because Black Gold Texas Tea has propelled Texas into the number one state for oil and gas production. Which means high paying good jobs (over a half million and growing in the past five years), and pumped billions of dollars into our economy and state budget.

. . .

America is on the verge of oil and gas energy independence. Something we were told could never happen.

I wonder what will happen when the liberals run out of other people's money?  :dunno:  You ain't seen ugly yet!  :chuckle:
If it was easy, everybody would be doing it.

When Bernie Madoff did it, it's called a "Ponzi Scheme"
When Government does it, it's called "Social Security"
