Sturgeon from this weekend
« on: November 18, 2008, 08:54:21 AM »
I headed out for my last fall sturgeon trips of the year at the dam this weekend, the water is now at 52 and once it gets to 46 all the fish stop eating and most head to the willamete for the winter. On fri we hooked over 30 shakers, 4 keepers .. sadly only my buddy brandons first keeper a huge 56 made it in the boat, I lost one at the boat, my buddy cody had one jump and spit it at the boat and my friend bill hooked one and lost it as well... but it was not a bad day. Sunday I took out stangman from my open seat post off here, I did not have the 3rd rod in the water when I hooked his first ever keeper.. a nice 49.5... about 15 min later the same rod goes down and whamm fish on.. it was bills turn and he lands his biggest keeper to date a nice 57!! we were 2 for 3 in the first hour! I thought man Il be home early.. and i should have been! I ended up hooking and losing 4 yes 4 keepers that day~! I have never had that many come unpinned before!! we also landed 2 oversize, I got a 70 in and we put a 8.5ftr to the boat as well........ not a bad last weekend! now its archery elk and willamette keepers all winter!

Very nice
The things that come to those who wait, may be the things left by those who got there first!
