Cow Elk little Naches Early archery
« on: February 24, 2014, 04:39:40 PM »
Last season They took away Early season Cow elk from Little Nachese gmu unit 346, This sux because ive been hunting this area for 6 years (havent killed anything yet) and finally have "It all down" In this area :( Am wondering if their is a reason they took it away? and if their are plans to bring it back, I dont know where else to hunt, and unfortunately dont have lots of time to scout.

They really didn't take it away from us, they gave it to us 6 years ago and took it back. They opened it while closing the Nile unit, to rebuild the elk numbers in that unit.

Historically, Little Naches unit is closed to early archery, except for permit only.

Lot of land in Bumping unit.
Do start your research now, and get a giid idea of an are in the unit you want to hunt, Get familular with it through Google earth and other maps, and when you get time to scout it, you will have a little knowledge of the area.

Look around the site and I am sure you will find plenty of info on the Bumping Unit

And Welcome to the Forum  :hello: :hello: :hello:

I was just posting the same thing. If you've been hunting it during the early archery season for six years, the first three you were hunting in a closed unit.

Did you notice a big increase in the number of hunters in 2010?   :o

Darn! Here I thought we had caught another poacher!

Just kidding, figured it was just your memory. I had to look it up to remember exactly when it changed.
