Wyoming Area 35
« on: February 27, 2014, 02:19:27 PM »
I finally checked the Wyoming draw results and now I have checked it twice.  It still says successful for Area/Type 035-1.

Does anyone have advice or experience for this hunt.  I will probably go with an outfitter to access the wilderness area.  Does anyone have any outfitter recommendations?

My buddy, GUHunter, lives just west of there. We've driven through 45 a few times. There are elk to be had. The best advice I can give:Hunt harder than you thought you would. There are elk there, but they aren't going to be sitting on the interstate. There is a lot of private ground that gets elk wintering there later in the season. In the early summer-October, the elk are high.

Best of luck and send lots of pics! Get out there a couple times and find the animals during a hike or two this summer. There are lots of trails and a person can access most of it within a day or two hike. Sadly that wilderness area isn't deep like it is over near unit 60, the Thorofare.
Wishing I was fishing...or in Wyoming

Don't know anything about the area but congrats on drawing the tag. I am still building WY points for elk, deer and lope.  Looking forward to seeing the pictures and hearing about your hunt.

Yeah, I checked mine twice and it still says unsuccessful. Not much public land available, outfitters needed for private and wilderness access. Good Luck
