A few years ago wdfw made hunting coyotes with dogs illegal.  I think the excuse they gave was "because it is not socially acceptable".  That was a bunch of b.s.  They must have caved to some pressure from some anti-hunters. >:(
May I always be the kind of person my dog thinks I am.

I remember that well, my son and I were looking at buying some coyote dogs from Kansas, but it all went down the tube due to the commission and nobody was railing to keep it.

This is why we must have a loud voice, we must make it known that we will not tolerate any more losses in hunting opportunity. This really isn't just a coyote contest issue. This is an assault on all hunting, the antis are picking off one thing at a time, most hunters are too concerned about their own favorite sport and don't care about all the other sports we keep losing. Until more hunters realize this mistake and take a stand, we will continue to lose, one sport at a time.

Send a message today, do it now, your favorite sport may be next to be banned after the antis win this battle!

DONE
The problem is we have to many wanna be hunters that don't take their hobbies seriously and don't realize the impacts or want to get involved.
The only man who never makes a mistake, is the man who never does anything!!
The further one goes into the wilderness, the greater the attraction of its lonely freedom.

Hay bearpaw, if its not on state land, do they have right to regulate events? Where as the season is open to all with a valid license I don't see how they can stop events that army on state or public land. If its private we should be good to go. I know I only hunt private... :dunno:

I would think it would be a blanket regulation. The state game board has regulation of all land in the state ( except where the tribes have their autonomy).

Yes, WDFW has authority over all hunting activities, public or private land in Washington, except by the tribes.

Good job everyone, keep the messages going, ask your family and friends to send a message too.

:bumpin:  please keep the messages going, we need to generate more messages of support...

I would like to ask all hunters to take one minute and send a short friendly message to the Washington Wildlife Commission now. You should also ask friends, family members, and members of any sporting groups you belong to do the same. Here is a sample message, add an additional point or two if desired, but keep it short and friendly:

Send To.... commission@dfw.wa.gov
Subject..... I Support Coyote Hunting Contests

Dear WDFW Commissioners,
I would like to express my strong support for coyote hunting contests. These contests provide a great deal of recreation for hunters across the state and much needed management of Washington's undermanaged coyote population.

Thank you for your consideration,
(your name & address here)
