Hunters Ed field test
« on: March 09, 2014, 06:56:48 PM »
Hi guys, I'm new to this site, as well as hunting, but not firearms. I intend to take my course online, and get the certificate there . I still am going to need to do the field test. Are most ranges open to this option? It seems like everywhere I've called they've been booked for like a year in advance. Anyone know of any open spots anywhere?
Thanks,
Logan

All i can say is good luck...our club quit offering field test for online because the quality of safety from these individuals was scary...if you happen to be ex-military you can wave the field test portion.  Keep checking the website for classes an get on some waiting lists or just suck it up and take a full course that guarantees you can get the field test done....i would also suggest doing as soon as possible before hunting season starts creeping up and slots become really difficult to come by.

The field test days and locations are all posted online. They're are quite a few openings that without looking a year out, but you might have to drive a bit. My son just went through his yesterday, but we had to drive 2 hours.

We will have six online evaluations in Issaquah starting in August. Registration will open at 10:00 p.m. on June 30.

Sign up with one of these members that are instructors and take the full blown class with them. I went through the class 42 years ago. Just went through it again last spring with my 8 year old daughter and it was very educational and we had a great time. You will learn a lot more from the instructors and I believe you will get more from it. Just my opinion. And you will have no problem finding a field course.
