Yup--A lady here in Wenatchee has a laser-engraving business.  She's done AR uppers, lowers, and metal magazines for me, a lot less expensively than those places that advertise to do it.  Put anything you want on a thumb-drive, and she will edit it, ask you if you like it, and put it on your gun part.
If it was easy, everybody would be doing it.

When Bernie Madoff did it, it's called a "Ponzi Scheme"
When Government does it, it's called "Social Security"

You can do stainless, but you have to color the piece black so it doesn't reflect the laser beam... you will have to wash the black off (rattle can paint?) later, but it can't be a reflective surface.  She did some PRI magazines for me, and they are a shiny brown color....  :twocents:

she does a good job my understanding with the equipment was the metal has to be coated. When i talked to her about etching calibers stamps onto barrels she said that they couldnt do bare metal.

I had her etch the calibers on my wildcat ARs on the upper receivers.  Not much of the barrel is exposed anyway...
Because of the limited space in her laser box, I just took her the stripped lowers and uppers, even though I think an upper with a 16" barrel might fit.

The reason I bought the SW 460XVR was to have some art work engraved all over it.
