Keep at it!

When I lived in Seattle for school I used to wander into Roy Patrick's fly shop on Eastlake. His advice for a beginning tyer was something like "Always tie a pattern, no matter what". And I think that's great advice. That way you have something planned, and when you're done you have something to compare it too. I really liked to "freestyle" and just wrapped cool feathers on hooks- but I know I progressed a lot faster when I started sticking to known patterns. Plenty of time to experiment/create after your skills are up. My :twocents:
