Are there any NWTF Chapters open in SW Washington?
« on: March 11, 2014, 09:07:52 AM »
My son and I would like to get more involved in the NWTF.  Wondering if there are any active chapters here in SW WA?

Thanks

I believe there is now only 1 in Western Wa (Lake Washington) and I believe 3 in Eastern Washington (Spokane, Tri-Cities and not sure on the 3rd).  You can go on to the NWTF Website and then to IN YOUR STATE ... should be a contact by the name of Barnabas Koka and he should be able to tell you whats in your area.

For turkey hunting purposes only, Klickitat is considered eastern Wa .... yes that's the 3rd "eastern Wa" chapter I forgot about .... kind of a shame since we use to have 26 chapter statewide including a chapter in Vancouver ... however it only took one RD hired by the NWTf who was definitely not a people person and has some other major issues to reduce the chapters to only 4 currently.  I was one of the 26 local chapter presidents and Jakes (youth) cordinator for 10 years (of one of the most involved and active chapter), served 10 years on the NWTF State Board of Directors, 3 years as Puget Sound District Director, and 10 years as a Senoir Sponsor member ... yet we were called many names by this RD (including thieves) which didn't sit well with those in the chapter or any of the other chapters he libeled .... it came out a few months later that the RD couldn't account for many chapters banquet funds and he was immediately fired  .... hhhhhmmmmmm !  The damage was already done statewide ....

The Klickitat County Banquet is in Goldendale on March 29. I can get you more information if you would like. I will be there.

The Lake Washington banquet is the 22 in Brothel.  There is actually now 6 chapters but we are the only one on the west side.  They are actively looking for an regional director for Washington and Oregon.  I am the vice president for the Lake Washington charter and also a state board member.

As always, great info.  If you could send me the info on the Goldendale meeting on the 29th that would be helpful.
Thanks again.
