Lowland Lakes with motor
« on: April 13, 2014, 10:44:16 AM »
So my dad, brother and I are looking for a new lake to fish. We have a 17 foot Boston Whaler with a 100 horse Merc on the back. There is also an 8 horse kicker that we would be using for lowland lakes. The problem is that the fishing guide does not explain which lakes you can use gas powered motors in. Does anyone know a way to look this up? Seems to me that this is something that should be in the fishing pamphlet, but its hard enough to get them to release it before the season as it is.

So if you know of lakes that allow for gas powered motors and have trout it would be appreciated. Been going to the same place for 13 years so we are in a funk. Thank you!

You are going about this backwards. The regulations have notes regarding lakes which prohibit internal combustion engines, not which ones permit their use. There is no list, just notes next to the other information such as limits and special rules. Good luck on your fish search.

oldguy is spot on, the only thing i'd add is that some local jurisdictions have "no motors" laws on lakes.  most aren't the kind of lakes you'd be taking a boat like that on, though.
you can still get gas in heaven, and a drink in kingdom come,
in the meantime, i'll be cleaning my gun

My apologies for misreading the regs. That makes a lot of sense.

A little birdie just told me the dumped 20k rainbows into Kapowsin with a few k of the 4-10 lbs

Just watch out for tweeters hitting you rig while you are fishing

actually I prefer lakes that don't allow gas.  went to a lake in the potholes Saturday and caught  about 15 or so trout 12-14 inches on flies in about 3 hours.   mike w
