I think it was the third day huntin and my gun misfired on me twice already with smaller bucks... I was hoovin through some timber up on the back side of a field that i shot my 5x5 last year. Seen a couple does and small spikes but i figured i may have a chance at another nice buck. I was watchin this area between the timber and the field, kinda tall grass with bushes and such when i see this huge bodied deer come runnin out of the trees straight to the field where he stopped on a dime.. it was kinda weird to watch.. he started grazin, so i figured i didnt want to take a 300 yard shot cause i dont have that great of a scope on my rifle so i got down on my belly and got about 100 yards closer. He didnt even know i was there.. took a breath and there he layed. The best part about this hunt was the next evening i took my little brother to the same spot but we got there a little earlier and waited for them to come down. i made the kid pass up 4 does a spike and a 2 point, he wasnt very happy about that till a very nice 4x4 came runnin down the hill chasin the small bucks around. Nothin like seein the smile on his face when we walked up to that deer on the ground.

That's cool.  I just thought it was unusual so I commented on it.

Very nice Whitey, BTW.

Is this site all big game talk or are we allowed to talk about upland and waterfowl hunting?
