So my son is starting his second year in boy Scouts and is really enjoying it. I have tried several times to get him to keep a journal of his outings (who, what, when, where, weather, etc) but it is tough to get him to see the value in it at this time. I know I wish I had kept one when I was in. They are doing bike trips, canoe trips, hikes of all kinds, next month they are hoping to do some fish plants to remote lakes with the WDFW, next weekend they are hiking into Flapjack lakes, they did snow caving and snowshoeing earlier this winter.
I was thinking a camera that we could make a few different mounts for might be a great way to track all this fun stuff they are doing, I am an admitted technophobe and finally got a cell phone late last year

, so this needs to be simple and hopefully not too much $$$. My kid is pretty tough on things so durability would be a consideration but I think he would try to keep it relatively safe. Looking for ideas from you folks that are into this kind of thing. Thanks.
