All I know is they have successfully reduced the Archery success rates to a point where they can't hide behind the numbers they provide. I still want them to provide a breakdown of all the special hunts so we can really see how many more branch bulls the MF harvest compared to archery. But they won't do that because its way in their favor! They show you want they want you to see!

You mean like this data?

Sorry Bobcat, I said it incorrectly. You are correct, they do break it down well. I wanted to say I would like them to show the numbers like they do for general season (without the breakdown). By bad! I think it would be good for them to show the numbers both ways so people can get a good idea of the branch bull harvests for all hunting methods.

General season? They have that data as well. That is if I'm understanding you correctly.

It was interesting to see that the numbers of elk hunters overall increased in 2013 after years of a downward trend.  All kinds of predictions of a further loss with timber company permits, disco passes, license increases, etc.

Fullabull, so are you saying you'd like to see the data so it's not broke down by GMU, and only by hunting method?

I think he wants the third table down on the main elk page--between general and multiple tag.
It shows the totals for special permits.

Yes, sorry for the confusion. Would like to see special draw information combined but so everyone can see the branch bull numbers. I think it would be good to show the %'s of branch bulls taken for each weapon. Just like they show but separate what each weapon category and add up the columns also.
Kind of like this:
4 point   5 point   6 point   Total
221            272           106            599     AR
729            545           187           1461   MF

The data needs to be in a database accessed with Microsoft SSRS with customizable reporting via the web.  Excel has too many limitations.

All states' data needs to be loaded into a single system in the same format.  Where's the damn business model for this?

ETA: screw Oracle, Teradata and Linux
ETA2: and IBM Cognos

OK, lets see if this works. This is what I'm talking about showing for special permits. They always make things look equal for General season but they never show these numbers because it really shows the disparity between Archery and the other two hunting methods.
This is from the 2013 Harvest report numbers:

Quality Bull Hunt MF
Hunters   251   Permits   305
Spike  2 Point   3 Point   4 Point   5 + Point
8        3              6             20             116
Total Bulls   153   Success   61%
   Branch Bull Success   54%

Quality Bull Hunt AR
Hunters   406   Permits   580
Spike     2 Point   3 Point    4 Point    5 + Point
5        2          0              5              57
Total Bulls   69   Success   17%
   Branch Bull Success   15%

Quality Bull Hunt ML
Hunters   108   Permits   141
Spike     2 Point   3 Point    4 Point    5 + Point
3        2              0              3               42
Total Bulls   50   Success   46%
   Branch Bull Success   41%

Bull Elk Permits MF
Hunters   482   Permits   598
Spike     2 Point   3 Point    4 Point    5 + Point
16        8         8             30              146
Total Bulls   208   Success   43%
   Branch Bull Success   36%

Bull Elk Permits AR
Hunters   60   Permits   87
Spike     2 Point   3 Point    4 Point    5 + Point

Total Bulls   17   Success   28%
   Branch Bull Success   22%

Bull Elk Permits ML
Hunters   48   Permits   71
Spike    2 Point   3 Point    4 Point    5 + Point
 2               0             0                1               11
