I would take the Wind over Drano if I had good access on the Wind.

Both the Wind River and Drano lake (which is really the mouth of the little White Salmon river), are between Bonneville and The Dalles dams

I have fished them both a few times. Does anyone think one place has bigger fish? I thought they were larger at the Wind.

I don't think one puts out bigger fish than the other.

The Wind has more fish that are going up to other places. As its still in the main stem Big C.

Some up river fish pull into Drano, but not as many as the Wind. So your chances could be better at the Wind for bigger fish chances.

Having fished both hard for 25 years or more I have never seen were one has bigger fish than the other though. I always fish the Wind first, Drano is the back up plan for me. Just a nicer area to fish IMO.

When STS did an article on me and the Wind, some 15 or so years ago, We were holding fish to 27 pounds. The biggest ever was 32. All hatchery fish. The fish bio took a sample of the scales, then I was able to get the data and see were these HUGE fish were headed. Neither the Wind or Drano! Ever since then, we try to concentrate on that run.
