Pygmy, that is a nice looking bear! The coat on that one is far superior to some that I have been seeing in there this year. Time to notch that tag!

Yep, spent the day in there today.  Spitting rain all day but still a pretty nice day for spring bear hunting.  Only saw elk and deer sign.  I'd like to see the elk that made some of the huge prints I saw today  :yike:

I agree Woodman.  My theory is that Main Gate bears tend to work harder for what they have and therefore have a higher regard for their appearance - as opposed to Bridge Side bears that freeload off "the man".  Still working on the theory  :chuckle:

Pygmy,

I think that you have a misunderstanding about these bears. I think that the ones that have coats that show wear are of the working class bears. The ones that have the perfect coats are probably of a class that gets everything handed to them and are probably kind of clickish. You should check that bear for painted claws. Just saying. :chuckle:

Those coats get rubbed on bridge gate side from laying in the road waiting for the  feeder dude to show up with "hand outs"

I met the "feeder dude" last week. Geez, you don't want to cross him! I got along ok with him, but I have talked to some that he has really chewed out.

I am trying to figure out how to get my in box larger. I wrote bearpaw and he has not gotten back to me. I try to keep at least one pm from each member that has contacted me so that I know who I have talked to.

You can contact me at 1934ford@msn.com if you wish.
