Holster suggestions
« on: May 03, 2014, 08:04:01 PM »
I was curious if anyone had any comfortable IWB holsters for  a s&w m&p .40 full size that I can read up on? Any info would help and suggestions. This will be my first conceal carry

Never found an inside the waste holster that was comfortable....to me that is an oxymoron.  Good luck and I would like to hear others opinions as well.

I'm going to strongly suggest the Comp-tac MTAC Minotaur holster. I have two of them for my glock 23 and 21 gen 4's, and it makes even the 21 vanish.

Comp-tac says that the holster is designed to be carried at the 4-o'clock position, but I find that it conceals better at 3-0'clock with the 23, and 4-o'clock with the 21.

I had a standard 1.5" clip wear out after continued daily use, and their customer service sent me a replacement for free.

This holster is pretty pricey though, but for me, it's worth it b/c of the level of comfort and fit and finish.

I think I'm going to give the alien gear a shot. Great reviews. Great price. 30 day trial and all the other warranty stuff. Worth a shot. Thanks for the info. I don't mind paying the $90 if the alien isn't gonna work out for an every day carry for comfortable.

I've been happy with my Theis holster, I carry my P90 in it and its quite comfortable.  Not sure of the email address though.

For IWB
I have had Crossbreeds, MTAC, and many more hybrids IWBs, the one I go to 90% of the time is the Galco King Tuk for my XD 4" Service.
The rest is divided between a Southern Comfort and a couple Kydex options.
The King Tuk can be covered by a t-shirt with little printing (except when bending over of course)  there are tons of OWB kydex options that snug up tight enough to conceal well also.

I was just thinking IWB due to summer coming up and I'm a t shirt only person. So should be easier to keep concealed. May need to buy some clothes to fit it but that's ok too haha. Thanks Al. Will check out those brands. I was almost thinking maybe I should get a smaller gun. But the full size just fits my hands best and is comfortable. Not gonna do me much good to have if I needed it and couldn't hit anything lol

You might need a couple different holsters to cover all your cloths options.
A full size can definitely be concealed with the right combination.
Even when carrying OWB I usually just throw my shirt over it and call it good.
I use to worry about printing, then I realized the vast majority of people are totally  oblivious to what is around them, lol
