Is this a good spot? What do you all think? There was a lot of elk droppings and last years rubs. Btw, thanks to whoever put this up. Seems like a good spot next to an old skid road and less than 1/2 mile away from the wilderness :chuckle:. Good views too

Cant wait to find more spots. This makes scouting a breeze.

I love find them

Found one in 2000 up on Bald MT that has been around for years, and when I went back about a year ago and checked, it was still there, in the same way I found, just a little more wear on it, but it didn't look like it was being use  :dunno:

I guess one of my questions would be are all the trees still living?
The only man who never makes a mistake, is the man who never does anything!!
The further one goes into the wilderness, the greater the attraction of its lonely freedom.

I know of 2 old stands just like that in Bethel.  Pretty old, I wouldn't climb them.

Saw a guy sitting in one last year on a metal folding chair.  We chatted for a bit and I watched as he climbed down.  He was a bit nervous about the climb down and was hopeing someone would be around when he did just in case he fell.
He said the chair was already up there when he found it.

One of them is REALLY old.  The old timers we camp with say it's been there as long as they can remember.  One of them still hunts underneath it sometimes.  He's too fat and old to climb it.  :chuckle:

The one with the chair wasn't too old.  I just noticed it this last season.  But the ladder looks like it had been there a while.
