Are they that rare in that area? I swear I've seen them in central Wa.
When I was younger we saw lynx tracks in the northeast every winter. I haven't seen much sign of them for a couple decades.The last one I physically saw in the northeast was back about 2000 to 2004ish. We are on the southern edge of their natural range so I don't expect there to ever be many, but its nice to see them in the area again.
They have been trapping them in the Revelstoke area the last few years. Had one head back within a couple weeks, must not have liked it here. Cool thing is that they prefer 10–15-year-old timber cuts where the prey animals live so the radicals can't use the lynx to curtail timber harvest.
