Son shoots first big Tom
«

Well don't have much of a story to tell because it was a run and gun sneak job but it turned out to be the biggest tom shot in are family and the first for my son, a wall hanger for sure and going to the taxidermist today! 22.5lbs with a 11 inch beard and 1 1/4 spurres. Nothing better than hunting with the kids!

Looks like a Merriam with the bright white on the tail feathers .... Rios are more yellowish/tan.

Heck yeah! He told me how he was getting it mounted turkeyslayer. That'll look great! Of course when he told me the story he said the beard was 11.5.

No its a Rio, the sun just started to peek out and it was making the tail feathers a lot lighter. Never have shot a Merriam yet, one of these day's! Going to have it mounted strutting should look awesome
