YJ GUIDE SERVICE REVIEW
«
on:
May 19, 2014, 11:20:18 AM »
I recently went on a one day guided hunt with YJ Guide service. When I arrived, I was greeted by Craig, Stacey, and Scotty. Scotty was my guide. I had a rough start to a morning by locking my keys in my truck which had everything except my hunting license and a mouth call in it. So Scotty and I went out and set up . We had two awesome toms show up I happened to miss both. We had a third show up, but out of range. It was great, Scotty's calling and tips were key to what brought those birds in. If it wasn't for my lack of shooting I would have taken down a big ole Tom before 6am. After those missed opportunities, Craig, Scotty, and I managed to get my truck unlocked. Scotty and I went back out and hunted till 1030 am. That’s when the third tom showed up by out of range he popped up then disappeared. Due to weather and a six hour drive home I decided to head home and not hunt the evening. I now regret not hunting the evening, but I think it was for best in my interest due to the long drive and work the next day. The main point I would like to convey is that YJ Guide Services are top notch. Their customer service and professionalism was second to none. This was the first guided hunt I have ever done. The YJ guide service team will most definitely receive my business again.

There's always next time and all of us miss every now and then. It was a pleasure having you out on the farm. Hopefully you can come back this fall and fill one of those tags...Craig

I too think Craig and his crew are top notch. They go the extra mile for you when you need it. I was in the same boat with weather and a drive home. I was onto some birds but I just could not bring them in. Hopefully I can fill that tag this fall also. I have known Craig for a few years now. Very nice guy. If anybody hear on the wet side would like anymore info on YJ Guide Service, drop me a line. I would be glad to talk to you.

Every year! I have taken three whities off the ranch. A couple of 5x5's. They have wall tents set up and can put on a killer dinner. I have been hunting the ranch for 18 years and I have seen whities on every part of the ranch. Lots of Muley's too.

I hunted with Craig of YJ guide service 2 years ago . I had ran a ad on craigslist wanting a place to hunt . I'm disabled and needed easy terrain to hunt. Craig contacted me that he had a place for me to hunt if I was willing to take a Whitetail doe. And I was. After a few phone calls with Craig I drove out to meet him and look at where I would be hunting. Craig had a map for me and I followed him to the parking area .Craig was very helpful and I really felt he really wanted me to have successful hunt. Opening day I met Craig at his camp. He had 2 wall tents set up with benches and tables . He had fresh coffee ,orange juices, fresh fruits and Danish. I went out to hunt after that my hunt was an unguided hunt .But had told me where deer were .He was dead on. I missed an opportunity that morning , my fault . So about 11 we headed back to camp for lunch .Craig again had food out for everyone and cold drinks. We sat around for awhile talking with other hunters . There was a few successful hunters that morning. What I'm trying to get to is that Craig put on a number 1 hunt for me .He was very gracious and knowable about his hunting areas .He was always very friendly and a very quick smile.
Later that day I did get my deer my brother n law packed it out for me. We headed back to camp where Craig was putting on lavish dinner for everyone I said my good byes and headed home. I was unfortunate in on the way home my heart started beating very fast so I went into the emergency room .It turned out I had went into AFIB .
Again I would like to thank Craig Dowdy and his staff for a great hunt . I highly recommend him to everyone I meet. Darryl G Noyer
