Are boat tabs only required for motorized boats, in rivers and marine areas?
no I just see alot of row boats on lakes without tabs. maybe they have to be trailerable or over 14ft
Boat RegistrationRegister your boat with the Washington State Department of Licensing. To navigate, operate, employ, or moor your vessel in Washington, you must have a Washington title, registration card, and registration decals, except:If your vessel is a canoe, kayak, or a vessel not propelled by a motor or sail.If your vessel is less than 16 feet in length and has a motor of 10 horsepower or less and is used on non-federal waters only.If your vessel is properly registered by a resident of another state or country who uses Washington waters for 60 days or fewer. The registration card (the cutout portion of the Vessel Registration Certificate) must be onboard whenever you use your vessel.
so if i use a boat thats 10 ft long and has a trolling motor on it i don;t need tabs?
Do I have until the end of the month?
And have your boat drivers license. That's an automatic ticket generator too.
Last year they were dinging everyone for not having their registration "IN TH BOAT" they gave me a warning.Mine has always been in my truck with the others, I just never thought about it being in the boat.
so under 10 HP doesn't have to be licensed? I looked everywhere last year and couldn't find that. Is that an RCW a WAC or what?
As long as you stay on "non-federal waters" - No Puget Sound, Lake Wa, etc.
QuoteAs long as you stay on "non-federal waters" - No Puget Sound, Lake Wa, etc.what about Sammamish?

FYI, the fine for expired boat tabs is more than expired vehicle tabs
Quote from: bigtex on June 09, 2014, 07:50:15 PMFYI, the fine for expired boat tabs is more than expired vehicle tabsI hope that is only if you are boating with expired tabs.I haven't put mine in the water for 2 yrs so didn't license it. Is there a fine for that when I pick up new tabs?
Been trying to figure out how to get tabs on my boat but the dmv isnt helping much...bought it from my father in law who bought it eight years ago from a woman whose husband passed away..no title and dmv says bill of sale wont cut it..cant find the woman now either.Any advise would be apprecieated.
Awesome thank you ill request that. They straight up told me without a title or the owner present they cannot do a thing
