Holy balls! I just checked again.... selected! Im hunting moose this fall!  :IBCOOL: called amd they said its official!
Congrats on the tag! I am jealous!!!

I have been applying for moose in unit 4 for the last six fricking years as I know where there are two bruisers pushing 50+; even though I am a resident I can't even get the sniff of a tag. I had two friends in our hunting party pull moose tags on their first try. Now there are far more hunters applying for unit 4 so the odds are getting worse... :bash:
maybe I shouldn't  tell you... but this was my first try at applying for a tag.  :chuckle: not ro rub salt in a wound... what hunt were you applying for?
I'm not surprised, I have two friends that both drew moose tags on their first time applying for it... the one that we have been hunting with since 2009 drew his moose tag in 2010 for area 4 and has not shot anything else since. My dad and I have shot 5 bull elk, 2 mule deer bucks, and 1 wolf since 2009. I have personally passed on atleast one small mule deer buck every year and my dad always shoots his deer every year. The other 8-9 people from our camp account for 1 bull elk and 1 mule deer buck in that time. We sure the heck can't get drawn for moose though. I'm not hating though! Some guys have all the luck, just not this guy!!! Once again, congrats to you. If you want you are welcome to contact me if you need any ideas on where to go. I will give you a good spot where I know there was a big bull a few years ago, just not the one right where we hunt.

Pretty crazy how it all happened. I was dead set on applying for the unit 4 oct 1-14 hunt and was about to pay but at the past second just blurted out the number for the nov hunt at the cabelas counter... as soon as I paid I got a feeling like I would draw... wasnt really even bummed out at the false alarm negative I posted... weird how sometimes you just know...  :chuckle:

My hunting partner and myself both struck out on moose as well.  We thought for sure that one of us would draw this year.  Oh well, we still got WA drawing to look forward to!  :chuckle:
The best friend a guy could have asked for. RIP chasing pheasants in heaven Denali girl.
