Here are a handfull of trail bombs you may encounter during your elk woods adventures. Can you name which animals they came from? I will tell you that there are "offerings" from a mountain lion, moose, wolf, brown bear, bobcat, coyote, black bear, and elk pictured. We'll do tracks after this thread runs for a bit

From #1 to #8, who provided these scat piles for our viewing enjoyment?

It would be easier to guess if there was a standard for size in the picture. A coin or compass laid next to the "offering".

Dang, got all of them right except had wolf and coyote switched. With something there for Scale I might have got it all.

This is a good thread right here. I have a deep interest in tracking, and find this sort of thing really useful. I'm lucky enough to live in a place where I can track a little every day, if I make it a priority.

Someday I'd like to start a tracking club out by Yacolt. Right now I just handed my wife our newborn, so it's gonna have to wait!

I'll have to dig up some scat and print pictures and post them when I get a moment.
